Beijing Air: 15
I moved a big wooden arm chair out of the way of the window. I love the openness, but I may be out voted, so the above picture might not happen again.
My alarm is set for 6am Monday-Friday, but I have been waking up as early as 5:30. I have no idea why. Since my body's alarm clock is depriving me of sleep, I got in an extra long yoga routine today.
I don't mind the hazy weather this morning. The air is crisp and it will be a refreshing bike ride to work.

Beijing Air: 14
No mountains today. The past few days have been so lovely. The air is beginning to cool and it really feels like autumn.

Beijing Air: 9
Today is particularly smoggy. I found an article yesterday discussing a Japanese scientist who originally was studying pollution in the air from China, but changed his focus to harvesting the microparticles in the polluted air to enhance a fermented soybean dish called natto. Pretty wild!

Chinese Food: Júzi
I thought this was a lime when I went to the market the other day, but to my surprise it's an orange.
This label wasn't on the ones I bought originally, and to be honest, labels mean nothing in China. Sure this says it's an orange, but it's actually called 橘子 jú zi which means tangerine. They sell them when they are green, which is a little more sour than the normal tangerines.
Fruit is so easy to buy in Asia. There are carts and market shops everywhere. Fruit sold in the grocery stores, surprisingly is usually pretty awful. The best produce comes from shops that ONLY sell fruit and that sell fruit everyday. The seasonal fruit is usually sold outside of the store front and the apples and common fruits are usually inside. Júzi started popping up just a week ago.
Sorry for the bad webcam pics. I'm on my lunch break and wanted to quickly throw this up!
